Las Anod (SD) – News from Las Anod town confirm that Somaliland police have arrested Mohamed Bidhanshe, one of the journalist working in that town.

Journalists in Las Anod said security forces are detaining journalist Mohamed Bidhanshe in the central jail, with the journalist confirming that they had informed him he is being held for interviewing with Col. Faysal Fararug, an official leading the anti-Somaliland rebel group SSC.

Sources added, the journalist told them that some of his previous reports were also among the reasons the military said they arrested him.

Somaliland authorities in Sool region didn’t release any information on the arrest of the Journalist yet.

The latest arrest comes at a time were Muse Bihi’s government continues to crack down on independent journalists and freedom of expression in Somaliland.
