MOGADISHU (SD) – Jubbaland leader, Ahmed Mohamed Madobe has arrived in Somali capital, Mogadishu to attend sixth round of talks between leaders of the federal government and regional states over electoral process.
An advance security team of Madobe landed at Aden Adde Airport in Mogadishu prior to his arrival.
Puntland state leader Abduallhi Deni who has been at loggerheads with President Mohamed Farmaajo will also arrive in Mogadishu.
Somali leaders are expected to attend summit to end political stalemate and find consensus on the delayed election.
The talks between the federal government and its member states are expected to take place at the Airforce Hangar within Aden Adde Airport in Mogadishu.
According to sources privy to the summit, the federal government is planning to the talks to focus on the signing of the implementation process of the September 17 deal and to support the Baidoa Framework agreed to by a joint technical committee.
Meanwhile, Jubbaland and Puntland leaders reportedly demanded the September 17 Agreement to be review to include the Council of Presidential Candidates (CPC).
