Hargeisa (SD) – Somaliland Minister of Health Development Dr. Omar Ali Abdillahi (Bade) accompanied by the Director General of the Ministry Dr. Mohamed Abdi Hirgeye, received medical equipment from Taiwanese embassy in Somaliland.

The medical equipment donated by the Taiwanese Embassy is to combat the resurgence of Covid-19 in the world.

The deputy ambassador of Taiwan to Somaliland said that the donated equipment is part of the Taiwanese government’s efforts in supporting Somaliland.

Somaliland’s Minister of Health Dr. Omar Ali Abdillahi (Bade) thanked the Taiwanese government its people for their contribution to Somaliland ever since the two nations stablished their diplomatic relationship.

The Taiwanese government has also supported Somaliland in other areas including education, agriculture and fisheries.

The governments of China and Somalia strongly oppose the diplomatic relations between the two unrecognized countries, Taiwan and Somaliland.
