Mursal and Hashi Visit Mogadishu candidates’ conference

Mogadishu (SD) – The Speaker of the Somali Parliament Mohamed Mursal and the First Deputy Speaker Abdiweli Mudey visit the Presidential Candidates’ Conference tonight at the Jazeera Hotel.

Chairman Mursal and Mudey are officials who were very close to President Farmajo, and played a key roles in ousting former Prime Minister Hassan Ali Kheyre.

The Speaker of the Upper House of the Federal Parliament Abdi Hashi Abdullahi has also visited the Presidential Candidates Conference in Mogadishu today.

Abdi Hashi was accompanied by former Chief Justice Ibrahim Idle Suleiman and former Minister of Information Mohamed Abdi Hayir Mareye.

The meeting is expected to focus on the political situation in the country and the disputed Electoral Commission.

The officials from Northern Somalia are expected to brief the Presidential Candidates and to discuss the controversy over the electoral commissions.

The move by the two Chairmen will put more pressure on Villa Somalia.

The presidential candidates said their meeting was a peaceful one to correct electoral irregularities alleging that the country was not on the path to democracy.
