Guriel (SD) -Reports from Guriel town in Galgadud region say that heavy fighting broke out again this morning between Somali federal government and Galmudug forces and Ahlu Sunna forces.

According to reports, this latest fighting in Guriel spread to new parts of the city, with the warring parties trying to retain control of the city.

The fighting in the town of Guriel has resulted in a number of deaths and injuries on both sides. The dead included army officers who were leading the fight.

The situation in Guriel today remains very tense, and the few people who remained in the town fled with their lives this morning.
