Galkayo (SD) – Galmudug state president Ahmed Abdi Kariye Qoor Qoor and his delegation today arrived in Galkayo, the regional capital of Mudug region.

The regional President’s delegation was welcomed in Galkayo by the Deputy Federal Police Commissioner General Kaniif who arrived there today and officials from the district administration.

President Qoor Qoor on his way to Galkayo stopped in Adado and met with city officials and traditional elders to discuss the general situation in Adado and security.

President Qoor Qoor’s visit is to resolve a crisis caused by the recent assassination of Sheikh Ali Ahmed Farah (Sheikh Ali Dheere) who was described as a philanthropist.

Galkayo, the capital of Mudug region, is governed by both Galmudug and Puntland regional states.

The president was accompanied by ministers, lawmakers and other officials from Galmudug state.

The Galmudug president has been away from the region for a long time for participating the federal election talks in Mogadishu.
