Jigjiga (SD) – The president of Ethiopia’s Somali regional state Mustafa Muhumed Cagjar confirmed to local about a recent agreement reached between his government, Galmudug and Hir Shabelle administrations in southern Somalia.
The President said it is very important to maintain security along the border between the Somali regional of Ethiopia and the two Somalia regional administrations.
“We have a responsibility to ensure the safety and security of Somalia. However, it is important to focus on border security, which needs to be monitored closely, there is a recurrence of al-Shabaab activities which requires collective action to stop it.” said Cagjar.
The president said any concerns would be addressed and reconciled and urged the two Somali regional statement to secure their side of the borders.
Recently, the Somali regional government reached various agreements with the Galmudug and Hirshabelle administrations, and the agreements between the two administrations were attended by Galmudug state security minister Ahmed Moalim Fiqi and Hirshabelle vice president Yusuf Dabageed.
