Bossaso (SD) – Reports from Puntland indicate Puntland Regional Defense Forces and Al-Shabaab militants clashed in the Bari region, in Calmadow mountainous terrain between Bari and Sanaag regions.

Early in the day, the troops chased Al Shabab militants planting explosives near a military base in Calmadow, no casualties were reported.

Last night, hours of fighting broke out in the mountains regions north of the village of Af-urur, where anti-peace groups were gathering.

No casualties have been reported, Puntland security officials are said to be carrying out operations to clear the area of insurgents hiding in the mountains of Calmadow
