Mogadishu (SD) – Puntland President Said Abdullahi Deni and Galmudug President Ahmed Abdi Kariye (Qoor Qoor), issued a statement following talks in Galkayo, Mudug region, on security issues and elections.

The statement said Puntland and Galmudug will work together to strengthen internal security between the two administrations and fight Al-Shabaab and ISIS terrorists, according to the statement.

The presidents of Puntland and Galmudug agreed to work on bringing together Somalia’s political parties who disagree on the conduct of the elections.

The two administrations also said that they are always willing to work towards achieving an inclusive 2020/21 elections.

Puntland and Galmudug called on the Somali people to preserve the unity, security and stability of the country, and to avoid anything that could lead to instability and insecurity.
