Garoowe May 17, 2023 (SD) – Puntland state of Somalia has issued an order for the immediate arrest of four politicians including the former Minister of Finance of Puntland, Hassan Shire Abgaal, the Federal Presidential Adviser, Khadar Faroole, former Minister Mahmoud Shido, and Mohamed Jama Farah.
These four politicians were accused of being involved in the recent internal conflicts that took place in the city of Garowe, where clashes broke out between the security forces of the regional state protecting the local electoral commission.
The politicians were ordered to be arrested, and it is not yet clear how the government will ensure their arrest given that they enjoy significant support from various regions in Puntland.
