Garowe (SD) – Puntland traditional parliamentary leaders, who have been involved in mediating between President Said Deni and his deputy Ahmed Karash, have succeeded in resolving the dispute between the two.
“Puntland President Said Abdullahi Deni, along with Vice President Ahmed Elman Osman Karash, met today with the Speaker of the Parliament, Abdirashid Yusuf Jibril Awl, First Deputy Speaker of Parliament Abdiaziz Osman, Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament. Ismail Mohamed Warsame and members of the traditional leadership of Puntland”. Said a statement from Puntland’s presidency.
The statement further clarified the topics discussed by the sides “The attendees discussed working together for the unity, security and development of Puntland, successfully in eliminating the differences in the management and operation between the President and the Vice President.”
Th regional state called on its public to work with officials “The government calls on the Puntland people to work with the government, to stand together against the enemy, and to avoid any disturbances in Puntland’s security and stability.”
Details of the actual agreement were not released, casting a shadow on the reconciliation achievements.
The President and his deputy had power sharing issues ever since their election, there is no word if that’s resolved yet.
