Puntland warm to hosting Gaza refugees

GAROWE (SD) – The UK newspaper Daily Mail revealed that an airstrike in Somalia last week killed a senior leader of the ISIS group, believed to be responsible for recruiting terrorists to carry out attacks in Western countries.

The targeted individual was identified as Ahmed Maeleminine, a senior ISIS official responsible for recruiting fighters, financing, and leading overseas operations.

In recent years, ISIS’s branch in Somalia has gained increasing influence, transferring funds globally and planning international attacks.

The report highlighted that Ahmed Maeleminine was well-known to U.S. intelligence agencies. Details of the operation were first disclosed by former President Trump last Saturday, who shared footage of the airstrike in Somalia.
