DHUSAMAREEB (SD) – Six new senators were today elected in Somalia’s central state a day after eleven senators elected in Puntland state.

Members of Galmudug assembly will also be electing the two more senators in the forthcoming days.

Two of the six seats were explicitly allocated to women to achieve the 30% quota in parliamentary elections.
