Mogadishu(SD)-Somali police have announced that they have arrested a child trafficking network of eight women and three men.
Deputy police chief Jen Sakiya Hussein said in a statement on her Facebook page that the operation was carried out by the CID’s lead detectives, also 11 children were rescued by police, whom they described as ‘for sale’.
“The Police, especially the leadership of CID Criminal Investigation has arrested a child trafficking network after an investigation that took a one month and arrested 11 accused, 8 are women, they also rescued 11 children between the ages of 12 and 7 months, who are currently being cared for by the police until their parents are located.” said Sakiya Hussien.
