NAIROBI (SD) – President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud attended today the 21st summit of the International Development Association (IDA) held in Nairobi, Kenya.

The summit holds significant importance for the Somali government, which recently reached a high level of debt, aiming to secure international financial assistance to effectively address domestic needs, improve fiscal management, and contribute to Somalia’s economic growth.

Organized by the International Development Association (IDA), a branch of the World Bank Group, the summit will focus on advancing development and financing in African countries to strengthen projects aimed at progress.

President Hassan Sheikh is expected to engage in high-level meetings with African leaders and officials from the International Development Association to enhance collaboration between Somalia and international financial institutions.
