Mogadishu (SD) – Somali military forces in the Janaale area of Lower Shabelle region in Somalia, are accused of raping a teenage girl and a pregnant woman.

Former Governor of Marka district in Lower Shabelle region, Hassan Moalim Omar accused the Somali military officers raped a 13-year-old girl and a pregnant woman in the area, in an interview with Mogadishu’s Kulmiye Radio.

Hassan Moalim pointed out that the 13-year-old girl was abducted by the army in Janale area, then raped her, and now is in poor health.

Also, the former Governor alleged that the Soldiers removed a pregnant lady from a vehicle she was traveling in and raped her.

The two rape victims are currently been treated in a Mogadishu Hospital, according to the Former Governor Hassan Moalim Omar.

The Somali Federal Military Command has not yet responded to these allegations of rape by the  government troops in the Janaale area.
