Somalia: Channel 4 Reporter Jamal Osman deported by NISA

Mogadishu December 19, 2022 (SD) – Journalist Jamal Osman of Channel 4 television in the UK, was denied entry to Mogadishu and was later deported, according to local reports

The journalist arrived in Mogadishu yesterday and remained in the custody by NISA security forces, who then reportedly ordered him to leave the country.

The journalist who recently prepared a program about Al Shabaab was accused of exaggerating the influence of Al Shabaab in the war-torn country.

The Somali government has recently placed restrictions on the country’s media and further limited the broadcasting of news about Al Shabaab.
