MOGADISHU (SD)-Additional reports have emerged regarding operations conducted by the Somali Federal Government forces in areas along the borders regions of Galgadud and Hirshabelle.
These operations, which were carried out by the Danab forces, reportedly resulted in the capture of several Al-Shabaab members who were attempting to cross the shared borders of these regions.
The reports add that the forces also conducted mine clearance operations on the roads along the borders of the three regions. It was also noted that the operation included air support from the government’s air force.
However, there have been no reports of clashes or casualties from the operation, aside from the captured Al-Shabaab members, whose exact number has not been disclosed.
Finally, the officers leading the Danab forces indicated that these operations aim to ensure the security of the areas along the border that separates the administrations of Hirshabelle and Galmudug.
