MOGADISHU (SD) – Mudug Regional Police today gave details of a shooting incident that resulted in death and injuries in a vehicle carrying civilians on the outskirts of Galkayo.

Militiamen fired on a car carrying civilians on the outskirts of Galkayo yesterday, killing two people and wounding another, the attack was related to previous killings.

Galkayo Police Commander Ali Muse told local media that he was saddened by the shooting, and offered his condolences to the two people who died in the attack, and wished good health to the injured.

He said security forces in the region have arrested the militants who were behind the attack on the outskirts of Galkayo, and are pursuing others who have escaped.

The commander called on the people of Mudug to work with the Mudug Regional Police as they continue to provide security in Galkayo and the region.
