Mogadishu (SD) – Somali Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office, Abdihakim Hassan Ashkir has today met with a delegation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia who is visiting the capital.
During the meeting, the two leaders discussed bilateral relations and the need to enhance cooperation between the two countries.
The two sides focused on restoring the closed Saudi embassy in Somalia and reopening its doors.
The delegation thanked the Minister of State for the warm welcome and promised to increase their support to the Somali government, which has significantly declined.
The meeting follows efforts by Prime Minister Roble to restore full ties between the two countries.
Official from the two countries did not speak to the media after the meeting or issue a joint statement regarding their meeting.
