MOGADISHU (SD) – A meeting between the Government of Somalia, United Nations agencies, and donors took place today in Mogadishu.
The meeting focused on the financing and implementation of the National Plan, which is nearing completion. The parties discussed the best ways to ensure the plan produces beneficial outcomes for the community.
The meeting was attended by directors and general managers of Federal Government agencies and federal member states. They presented to the heads of UN agencies and donors the work that has been done on the National Plan and the government’s commitment to its implementation. They also urged donors to channel their financial support through the National Transformation Plan Fund.
This meeting was the first of its kind involving the leaders of UN agencies, donors, and the Somali Government during the drafting of the National Transformation Plan. It was agreed that all parties would play a significant role in the implementation of this plan.
