MOGADISHU (SD)-The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, also the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, chaired an extraordinary meeting of the National Security Council today.
Among the topics discussed at the meeting was the recent incident involving the illegal smuggling of weapons into certain areas of the Galmudug State.
During the meeting, reports were heard from security agencies and the National Security Advisor.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud emphasized the importance of strictly implementing the Weapons and Ammunition Control laws.
He stressed that achieving success in lifting the arms embargo is fundamental to the government’s policy on arms control.
