Erigavo (SD) – Somaliland security forces have launched an operation in Erigavo this morning to evict non-locals from southern Somalia.

A few weeks ago, Somaliland ordered the Southerners to leave, which ended yesterday. The move follows the deportation of people from Las Anod.

Police could be seen at major and Businesses in Erigavo looking for people from southern Somalia.

Last month, Somaliland deported people from the Southwest from Las Anod, the capital of Sool region.

The uproar from that move brought about condemnations from local and International partners
