Hargeisa (SD) – Somaliland three national parties have officially handed in the lists of candidates for the parliament and local council elections to the National Electoral Commission.
Kulmiye party spokesman Abdinasir Muhumed Buni and party secretary general Ibrahim Rabi confirmed they summitted their lists of candidates to the National Electoral Commission.
Abdinasir Yusuf Qodah, the deputy secretary general of the opposition UCID party, said the party had officially summitted their list of candidates to the National Electoral Commission for the upcoming by-elections.
The opposition Wadani Party said it had also summitted their party’s candidates to the electoral commission for the country’s upcoming elections.
The parties submitted the names of the candidates on the last day permitted the national parties to submit to the Electoral Commission the list of candidates for the May 31 elections.
The three national parties have submitted the names of their candidates on the last day legally permitted to do so.
