Hargeisa (SD) – The President of Somaliland, Muse Bihi Abdi today received the Ambassador of Denmark, Amb. Ole Thonke who is visiting the country.
The meeting discussed issues such as the upcoming elections of the local and the House of Representatives of the Republic of Somaliland, which were proposed by the Electoral Commission to take place in the country on 31/05/2021, agreed with the three national parties and submitted it to the Somaliland House of Elders.
The meeting also discussed Somaliland’s progress in democracy and social affairs, the Somaliland Development Fund, of which the Danish government is a member, and economic and small business development.
The ambassador noted that his country will continue to contribute to the economic and social development of the Republic of Somaliland.
Finally, the President of the Republic of Somaliland thanked the Government of Denmark for its efforts and support, In particular, the Somaliland Development Fund (SDF), in which the Government of Denmark plays a major role in EU funding. He also thanked the Danish government for being one of the first countries to open an office in Somaliland to serve the interests of both countries.
