Hargeisa (SD) – Somaliland says the Somali Foreign Minister’s remarks on DP World’s investment at Berbera Port were meant to disrupt the relationship between Somaliland and the United Arab Emirates.
The statement of the Somaliland Foreign Ministry in Arabic is as follows:
‘The Government of the Republic of Somaliland is disturbed by the statement from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Somalia Mr. Issa Awed’s aim is to disrupt and destabilize relations between the two countries’ Republic of Somaliland and the United Arab Emirates.
The weak government of Somalia has made a lot of efforts to stop and politicize the UAE’s investment and development projects in the Republic of Somaliland which is unacceptable.
The Republic of Somaliland is an independent country with no relationship with Somalia, and at present, there is no understanding or negotiations on going between the Republic of Somaliland and Somalia as the Mogadishu administration is not a responsible administration and are is not a honest government. fruitful talks between the two countries.
Finally, the Government of the Republic of Somaliland fully informs the Arab League of our brothers in the United Arab Emirates, member states of the Arab League and the rest of the world that Somaliland’s independence is irreversible and that the people of Somaliland are ready to bear the consequences of their cause and the people of Somaliland are ready to bear the consequences of their right to whatever it takes and whatever time it takes.
