Hargeisa (SD) – Pictures of a woman who volunteered to repair one of the streets in Hargeisa has been posted on social media with lots of fan fair.

In recent days, traffic has been disrupted on this damaged road in the center of Hargeisa. Before today, no one tried to deal with it, not the company that drilled it nor the local government responsible.

The sole woman, who is seen wearing a white scarf with the slogan “Femininity is not a tether”, was working on her own to repairing the road.

One of the largest companies in Somaliland, Somcable is meters away where the volunteer woman was repairing the road, leading to questions about cooperate responsibility to the community.

Hargeisa residents who are facing a number of problems, including poor road conditions, are applauding the woman’s voluntarism.

Hargeisa is preparing for local council elections, which are expected to take place on March 31, 2021.
