Kismayo(SD)-Jubbaland regional vice president Mohamud Sayid Adan has said that there were hundreds of troops defected to the Somali government.

More than 200 Jubbaland troops have announced in Luq district that they have joined the Somali government.

An army officer, Mohamed Abdi Mudey, told the media that they had made the decision after they had a disagreement with the Jubbaland administration.

Mohamud Sayid Adan declared that the Federal Government and Jubbaland are the same, so the news is nonsense.

In recent months, there have been political tensions between the federal government and the Jubbaland administration following the election of President Ahmed Madobe, which the federal government called illegal.
