Dhusamareb (SD) – Dhusamareb district the seat of the new Galmudug state parliament is to have its first session today.

In today’s meeting, the parliamentarians are expected to elect an interim chairman that will set the official timetable for the election of the speaker.

Parliamentarians will also select among them an election committee, which outlines the selection procedures of the Galmudug Parliament Speaker and Deputy Speakers.

The security has been tightened in Dhusamareb and a series of meetings are taking place on the election of a president and house speaker.
