HARGEISA (SD) – A high level delegation led by Somaliland President Muse Bihi Abdi, are scheduled to leave for the United States this afternoon.

Somaliland government ministers, parliamentarians, businessmen and other members are part of President Bihi’s delegation, the purpose of the Somaliland President’s visit to the United States has not disclosed.

This is President Muse Bihi Abdi’s first visit to the United States since his election in 2017, during his stay in the country, the President is expected to hold talks with US leaders in Washington and the Somaliland community in the United States.

The president’s visit comes as the president is insisting to postpone the presidential election, slated for November of this year.

Opposition parties oppose the move to delay Presidential election, calling it illegal.
