Mogadishu December 06, 2022 (SD) -The President of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, met with Representatives of Turkey and Norway in Somalia and shared his commitment to the restoration of talks between the Federal Government of Somalia and Somaliland.

The president thanked Turkey and Norway for their efforts in reconciling Somalis and developmental projects.

The Norwegian and Turkish diplomats did not release any information about the meeting and or facilitating meetings between Somalia and Somaliland.

The meeting and the request for mediation come at a time when Mogadishu is busy fighting Al Shabaab, while Somaliland is in political turmoil based on the postponement of the presidential election in the self-declared independent state.
