December 05, 2022 (SD) – Reports from the Middle Shabelle region say that the Somali federal government forces and Ma’awisley militia entered Aden Yabal district, after days of build-up outside the city.

The governor of the Mahaas district is accompanying the army. confirmed to the local media that the army has gone inside and is conducting a security sweep in the city.

The Al Shabaab group is said to have left the city last night, it is not yet know were the militants went.

Also, the residents of the district have reportedly been displaced, following a heavy mine-clearing bombardment targeted the outskirts of the city.

Al-Shabaab had their main base in Aden Yabal in the Middle Shabelle region, and was their last strong hold in that region.
