Hargeisa (SD) – Somaliland Technology Conference has officially opened in Hargeisa today, focusing on shaping the country’s digital future this year.

Somaliland Technology Conference The theme of which is “Shaping the digital future of Somaliland”. It will be attended by 350 dignitaries including national officials, diplomats and heads of ICT companies.

The Vice President of the Republic of Somaliland Eng. Abdirahman Abdullahi Ismail- Saylici has opened the ICT Conference of the Republic of Somaliland for the second year in a row.

The Vice President praised the Minister of Communications Dr. Abdiweli Abdullahi Sufi and his ministry have organized this valuable conference for the second year in a row and it is difficult to hold such a conference at this difficult time with COVID-19, which shows their commitment to advance the Sector.

The conference, organized by the Somaliland Ministry of Communications and Technology, officially opened at the Grand Hadi Hotel in the capital Hargeisa, and will run for two days, November 14-15, 2020.

This is an annual conference hosted by the Ministry of Communications and Technology of the Republic of Somaliland which discusses technology and presents the importance of technology in this modern age.

The country’s telecommunications companies are embroiled in a growing regional, political and tribal rivalry that is causing uncertainty in the sector.
