Mogadishu (SD) – Somalia’s Speaker of the Upper House Abdi Hashi has written a letter to the international community alleging the central government of not following a legal process to appoint electoral commissions.
The letter was directed to the UN, the US, the EU and the African Union, criticizing President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo, Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble and NISA Director Fahad Yassin Haji of rigging the process of appointing the electoral members from the northern regions of Somaliland.
Abdi Hashi personally opposes the role of the deputy PM Mahdi Guled’s role in the process of the election of members of both Houses of Parliament from the Northern Regions.
