Djibouti(SD)-The Djiboutian government is continuing its efforts to secure the seat of the UN Security Council, after Kenya recently won the African Union support in its pursuit.
Djibouti’s foreign minister said Kenya cannot be trusted on the security council seat, as there is a strong conflict with Somalia.
Minister Mohamud Ali Yusuf, speaking to foreign ambassadors in his country on the issue of their candidacy for the Security Council seat, said Djibouti needs the votes of those countries.
He said if Kenya gets the seat it will affect the disputes with Somalia. He added that Kenya cannot be trusted in regional security.
The Kenyan Government is yet to respond to Djibouti’s accusations regarding the security of the region as it relates to Security Council seat.
