Hargeisa(SD)-Somaliland’s main opposition party Wadani condemned the government’s arrests of Hadhwanaag news Editor Abdirahman Ahmed (Asbaroo) and it’s Director Abdirizak Good Nur, after an allegation by the Somaliland Bank Governor Ali Ibrahim Baghdadi.

Waddani Youth Party chairman Mohamed Sadiq Dhamme described the government’s ban on Hadhwanaagnews as a threat.

‘We are really sorry, and we see that the press in Somaliland is harassed and oppressed, especially with Hadhwanaagnews  being shut down and two journalists arrested by the Somaliland Bank Governor, after they reported on corruptions allegation linked to him, It is unfortunate that the case hasn’t been followed through before the website was illegally blocked.” he said.

Mohamed Sadiq also called on the government to immediately remove the blockage on the website and release the two Hadhwanaag news journalists detained.
