Ahmed Madobe meets with the international community in Kismayo

Kismayo (SD)- Jubaland State President Ahmed Mohamed Islam has welcomed the Special Representatives of the Secretary-General for Somalia, James Swan, the European Union, the African Union and the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) , in Kismayo.

They discussed the 2020 Elections, the conflict between the Federal Government and the Member States and Somalia’s debt pardon and the finalization of the Constitution.

President Ahmed Madobe said the conflict between the federal government and some regional states is a major challenge and that the federal government is responsible is for the consequences.

Ahmed Madobe told the international community that elections could not take place in the country without a proper census, the completion of the constitution, security issues and talks in Somaliland.

It is the first meeting between President Ahmed Madobe and James Swan in Kismayo since Ahmed Madobe was re-elected president of Jubaland.
