Garowe (SD) – A delegation led by the Interior Ministry of Puntland has arrived in Towfiq district in Mudug region, where efforts are under way to end hostilities between two communities from Puntland and Galmudug.

Interior Minister Mohamed Abdirahman Dhabanad said that Puntland was ready to strengthen peace in all Mudug regions.

On the other hand, Puntland and Galmudug he said were working together to achieve peace, eliminating the need for a third-party intervention between the administrations of their people.

The Interior Ministry’s statement comes as a few days ago, officials from the Somali armed forces signed a ceasefire agreement between the two clans fighting in Mudug region.

Puntland, which recognizes Towfiq as a district in its area, has often experienced hostility, and no lasting solution has been reached between waring parties.
