Bulo Burde(SD)-Heavy fighting broke out in the town of Bulo Burde in the Hiran region yesterday between AMISOM troops and Al Shabab fighters.

Al-Shabab fighters had initially attacked army troops and authorities in Bulo Burde district, where fighting was intense, according to people in the region.

Osman Gedi, the deputy commissioner of Bulo-Burde district, said they have bushed back the al-Shabaab attackers.

He said al-Shabaab had fired bullets from the west side of Bulo Burde district, and that the troops had suffered no casualties in the fighting between the two sides.

The government and AMISOM officials have not commented on the fighting but locals say it was too extensive and the fought fiercely.
