Hargeisa(SD)-The Somaliland government has today suspended 42 employees at Hargeisa airport.

These workers were employed by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

The Somali government recently announced that it has taken over the management of the Somalia including airspace, staff and finances that were previously owned by ICAO.

Somaliland has sacked ICAO staff to prove that it is not part of the Somalia take over.

The suspended ICAO staff include Air Traffic Controllers, AIS Officers, MET Officers, Fire Fighters, Technicians and pushback operators.

These employees who were sacked by the Somaliland government and the ICAO organization did not yet comment this decision.
