El-Afweyn(SD)-Five people are now known to have died, three of whom are women, as a result of an armed attack in El-Afweyn town, in Sanaag region of Somaliland.

The attackers are said to be one of two warring clans in the area, with the dead coming from one clan.

“As a result 5 people are dead and 4 are injured, and the situation is now under control, the authorities are looking for the perpetrators as they are on the run,” said El-Afweyn Mayor Abdikarim Aw Yusuf Ahmed.

The fear is the two clans is feared to restart another war, while after several failed attempts, peace negotiations are still underway.
