Bossaso (SD) – The president of the semi-autonomous region of Jubaland spoke about his visit to Bossaso, the headquarters of Bari region today, where he met with Puntland President Said Deni.
In a press conference, President Ahmed Madobe said his visit was focused on discussing both Puntland and Somalia’s common interests.
Puntland President Said Deni, on his part, said that Puntland and Jubaland are united in Somalia’s political affairs.
President Deni said Puntland had been instrumental in the election of President Ahmed Madobe and was happy on his first trip to Puntland.
The two leaders are meeting prior to a special meeting with members of the international community in Bossaso tomorrow.
Five days ago, the US ambassador to Somalia arrived in Bossaso, meeting with President Deni.
The international community has previously called for political leaders in Somalia to resolve their differences, warning against conflicts that could jeopardize the Somalia election, supported by the international community.
