Djibouti(SD)-The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has announced that they will support Djiboutian government’s campaign to secure a temporary seat at the United Nations Security Council.
A statement from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has pledged to Djibouti to support the UN Security Council’s seat, as the government of Djibouti is part of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
Kenya won last week’s vote by the African Union Commission for East African Seat of the 15-member Security Council.
But Djibouti has said it will not give up its campaign and seek support from the Arab and Islamic countries.
The member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation comprises 57 states, which could help the Djibouti government win this seat.
