Explosion at the Seyidka intersection in Mogadishu

Mogadishu (SD) – At least three people were killed today and six others injured when a car bomb exploded at the Seyidka intersection in Mogadishu.

The dead and the injured were civilians on the road and others who were in their vehicles at the intersection awaiting in a search area.

The intersection is at one of the security corridors to the presidential palace in Mogadishu, and no traffic is to crosses there without been searched first.

Banadir region spokesman Salah Hassan Omar told reporters that at the time of the explosion, the area was busy and many vehicles were in line for security check.

The spokesman also confirmed that the explosion was not caused by a vehicle filled with explosives, but that it was a vehicle that was detonated, and is not yet known who the owner was.

He blamed al-Shabaab for doing their level best in bombing civelians every day.
