Garhajis and Habar-Jeclo clan meetings Concludes in Burao

Burao (SD) – A three-day Conference between Garhajis and Habar Jeclo clans in Burao, Somaliland, have concluded today with an agreement.

The communiqué issued by the two clans pressures the government of Muse Bihi to implement the previous Kulmiye government’s agreement with Khatumo administration.

The communique also called for Somalilanders to be united to protect the nation, and face advisories together.

The communiqué also commended the recent agreement reached between the opposition parties and president Muse Bihi ending the country’s election crisis.

They called on the Gurti to ratify the constitutional committee of scholars, urging both Houses to never pass any law that would contradict Islamic law.

They also called on President Bihi to show better inclusivity in his Government and to equally distribute all developmental projects.

The Garhajis and Habar Jeclo communities traditionally supported opposing political parties, and their summit in Burao is seen as a first step to a better relation between them.
