Mogadishu (SD) – Mogadishu residents confirmed hearing Heavy shelling last night at the African Union’s Military base at Halane.

Al-Shabab claimed responsibility for tonight’s mortar attack ay Halane base, a highly guarded main base of the African Union in Mogadishu.

A report published on al-Shabaab’s Internet media outlet stated that the shelling, five shells fired from an unmarked area, was landed inside the Halane camp and that there were casualties and injuries.

Amisom Command in Somalia has not yet commented on tonight’s mortar attack at their base in Mogadishu.

This is the second time this month that mortars were attacked in Halane camp.
