Mogadishu(SD)-The German government has formally announced that it will provide $ 73 million in financial assistance to Somalia.
German Ambassador to Somalia Annett Gunther announced the financial support as the German embassy in Mogadishu was celebrating their country’s Day of Unity.
Ambassador Annett Gunther said her country would increase support for Somalia’s development and said they would strengthen relations between the two countries.
The financial support from Germany will be used in training and development of skills, development of urban infrastructure, rural development, agriculture and water management.
In recent weeks, the federal government has received hundreds of millions of dollars in international support for efforts to reach its 2021 goal, to hold elections in the country and to abolish the draft constitution.
