Kismayo(SD)-A delegation from the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), led by it’s Representative to Somalia, Dr. Mohamed Ali Guyow, arrived in Kismayo on Sunday.
The delegation is expected to stay in the city for three days, have separate meetings with the Election Commission, Traditional elders selecting parliamentarians, candidates for the presidency and other Jubbaland civic organizations.
The delegation will formally monitor the Jubbaland Election Readiness process in Kismayo.
In Kismayo, intensive meetings are ongoing, all related to the upcoming elections, and the federal government and the candidates are all concerned that President Ahmed Madobe is running the election process.
The International Community is relying on the outcome of the IGAD representative’s trip to Kismayo on the decision of the Jubbaland election process.
