Hargeisa(SD)- Hargeisa-based ISIR Institute has released a report tonight detailing that there has been a decline in the progress of democracy in Somaliland.
ISIR said this was due to delays in elections, a lack of democracy within the political parties in Somaliland and the parliament being outdated.
The ISIR Institute report also noted that human rights abuses are among the factors that undermined Somaliland’s democracy.
These issues comes to Somalilanders as no surprise as they see the decline of their socio political lives.
But what is intriguing is that this is not a partisan point of view, but rather an academic one.
The question is how long will it take for the ruling party and their devout supporters that the country is at cross roads.
