Jubaland Planning Minister resigns, accuses administration of harboring a Fugitive

Kismayo (SD) – Jubaland Planning Minister Adam Aw Hirsi has resigned due to former interior minister returning to Kismayo after escaping house arrest in Mogadishu.

A statement posted on his Facebook page reads:

“As of today, I have resigned as the Ministry of Planning & International Cooperation of the Jubaland State, my conscience does not allow me to remain part of an administration that provides shelter to a man who escapes justice and is accused of violating human rights, I thank my former leader for the opportunity I have to serve my people ” said Adam Aw Hersi.

Jubaland Security Minister Abdirashid Janan arrived in Kismayo, he took a fairy from Mogadishu after escaping from house arrest in Mogadishu.

The former minister was welcomed in Kismayo by the Jubaland administration, he didn’t yet give details of his scape.

The Somali federal government didn’t yet respond to the fugitive returning to Kismayo.
